I have a 56k modem internet connection. When I connect to the internet, at first the connection is OK. But after some time all of a sudden I’m unable to open any kind of website, I can’t receive my e-mails or do anything else but disconnect and connect again. Is there anything I can do about this or is this up to my ISP?

It may be up to your ISP but it also may be up to your phone line. When I had a modem internet connection, I remember all kinds of errors happening. It would either disconnect all of a sudden, or I couldn’t connect for hours because the line was busy. The only real solution to such problems is to get cable or DSL.
