My copy of Mozilla Firefox is interacting with google in weird ways. When I do a search, I get the results listed normally, but if I click any one of those on the first page, I get redirected to a commercial/auction site like ebay etc.
When I search in IE, it doesn't happen.
I asked a few friends who have the exact same version of Mozilla, and they say nothing like that's been happening to them.

Obviously you've got adware issues, more specifically a "browser hijack" problem. You'll have to clean up your system before it can return to normal. For that, you need to download an anti spyware tool such as Spybot or HJT (HiJackThis ). Install one, run a scan, restart, and see what happens.
