Hello. I have Sony Vaio laptop. I am running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1. I have noticed that my laptop will not go to standby mode when certain screen savers are running. I would be very grateful if you could explain to me what the problem here is and how to fix it.

This is a flaw in Windows XP which disables computer from going to stand by if Direct3D screensaver is running. Solution for this standby issue is simple. You have to download update from Microsoft which addresses this problem. It will replace two Direct3D libraries together with 3D screensavers and winlogon.exe.
