Hello people. Every time I try to put a machine into a standby mode the computer tells me that Print spooler service is preventing the machine from entering the standby. If I go into the task manager and kill the spoolsv.exe than it works. What should I do to prevent this service sabotaging my machine? Thanks.

Do you have some documents waiting in printer memory? Is your printer shared one, trough the network? You can set the startup mode for the service. You can disable it, set to manual or leave it to automatic. Type servces.msc in your run box dialog, and find Print Spooler service. There with the right click choose properties and select the desired method for starting the service. You can also try to set documents to load directly to the printer without printers memory usage, under printer properties in control panel.
