| Hello. I think that these integrated solutions are still nothing special but made only for entertainment. Take a look for Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro Sound Card. And see how much big the board is, for that piece of hardware. There are over 55 million of transistors on it! Imagine that. Intel Celeron CPU at 2000 mhz, doesnt have so many. Athlon XP 2000+ has 37 million of them. Sound card with more transistors than, sometime widely used CPUs. It is very capable monster that drastically improves performance even in gaming. I dont think that there is not going to be any similar onboard solution for a long time. PCI Sound Cards are always going to be better than onboard sound cards, there is no logic to discuss about it, really. |
