I need some help with my motherboard driver update. My motherboard could not properly see my new HDD so I downloaded the latest updated driver from the Internet. However, when I try to install downloaded file I get an error message and my computer restarts as if I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. To be even worse, now my Sound system will not work. Could it be damaged?

I don't think that your Sound system is damaged. There are other reasons that might cause your problem. The simplest one would be an error in the process of downloading. That way your driver file might be damaged. To check that, you should try to download it once more and than try to reinstall it. You may also have a wrong version of driver for your operating system. Your version of drivers could be for some other operating system like Vista, 2000 or 98 and you probably have a XP. In that case, you have to find and download the proper version for your operating system. Last reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is the problem, download and install them first. If nothing helps, then complete reinstall certainly will.
