Hello. I am so new in Music Production. I am using VIA Audio WAVE, on board, stereo sound chip. And it sucks for my needs. So, Ive decided to buy something 5.1 compatible for PCI, while I am still learning. I have bought C-media 8738. When I plugged it into the PCI slot, my computer asked for drivers. I gave them to Windows, and after reboot everything was totally messed up. My computer started to freeze at welcome screen followed with some buzzing, annoying, cut-like sound and after that reboot. Puff!! How to get my pc back at life? It does the whole procedure every time I start it.

The only way to do, is to remove the drivers from the safe mode. Than to turn off the computer and just put the Sound card into other PCI slot. That happens when the PCI adapter is low-cost model and than it attaches to the already shared IRQ. Nothing serious and nothing dangerous. You ll just going to need to do some joggling with that card, to pick up the right slot.
