Sony Vaio cannot burn single layer DVD!!

My Sony Viao is having a hard time with single layer DVD media. I have tried several times to burn single layer DVD and I had no luck. This problem started just recently, few days ago. Until then DVD burner worked fine. Do you have any information about this problem?

I have information about this and you will not like that information. Sony had problems with one batch of DVD burners that were assembled in their laptops. They showed exactly the same behavior as yours and there is no way you can do anything to fix this problem. I advise you to take laptop to Sony and ask them to change faulty DVD or to ask for a refund. It is up to you.
