Sony DVD writer not working

hello! I have bought yesterday Sony DVD writer. I have installed it, but it won't work. I cannot believe that they sold me faulty DVD writer! Anyway, I kindly ask you what do you suggest me to tell when I go with this broken thing to them. I am really mad! Thanks!

Hello! Before you go to quarrel with vendor, check if you have installed this dvd writer properly. I assume that you did not set jumpers properly. If you have hard drive and this drive on same IDE, then hard drive must be master and dvd slave. To be truth with you, Sony is excellent brand and I have never heard that they have faulty things.
