I started getting some strange ‘delivery failure’ e-mails a few days ago. The strange thing about them is that they were being sent to some address that I’ve never even seen and certainly haven’t sent e-mails to. It’s getting pretty annoying since the number of these e-mails is increasing every day. What should I do and why did this happen? The e-mail address I’m using is new and only a few of my closest friends have it so I’m pretty sure that this isn’t their doing.

Your friends haven’t done anything wrong, at least not on purpose. But its likely that one of the friends who have your e-mail has got Netsky virus and that’s why you’re getting these e-mails. Your address was just randomly chosen by the virus to serve it’s purposes by filling in the ‘from’ line. I think that you should probably warn your friends that one of them has caught the virus. As for you, I’m not sure if there’s anything you can do to fix your problem. You can only make it easier if you set your e-mail client to automatically move such mails to ‘spam’ folder.
