| I'm putting together a rig built of used components that I got dirt cheap off of a few friends, and I'm having trouble getting it to boot on the Asus K8V Deluxe SE mobo. Actually, it does boot up, but incredibly slowly, it takes like 5-10 minutes. When I use another board, an even older one, everything boots OK. Any thoughts? |

One thing that often causes this is the USB boot option. Make sure that it is turned off in the BIOS settings. Even if it is already off, try disconnecting any USB devices you may have to see if that improves the boot times.
If it's not that, I guess it could be a faulty jumper on the board or something, it's usually impossible to tell with second-hand components.
