| I'm trying to set up a local mini network with just two computers connected through a crossover cable. One is running Win XP, and the other is running Vista. However, I can't get them to share the internet connection. File sharing works, but internet doesn't. The XP machine has internet connection (DSL modem) and connects OK, but the Vista machine can't get any action there. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? |

| Since Vista came out, lots of people have reported problems in networking Vista computers to XP ones, and this is mostly due to the fact that the default workgroup name under XP is 'MSHOME', while under Vista it's 'WORKGROUP'. Of course, these can and should be changed manually to match. |
