I have a DSL connection like this: Internet -> DSL modem -> My computer. Yesterday I got brand new laptop. My question is: is it possible to share internet directly from my previous computer, without buying some interconnection hardware. My DSL modem has only one USB output. Both my PC and my Laptop are equipped with LAN network card.

In theory, this is possible, you can turn on Internet connection sharing on your Desktop PC, and connect your PC to your laptop with cross-utp cable. However, I personally find this solution obsolete, as your PC has to be turned on all the time. I’d therefore advise you to replace your modem with some cheaper router (I recommend some of linksys’s models), and connect both of your machines directly from it.
