| I have installed SuSe as second OS on my machine. I have to network cards (one for LAN, other for cable modem). Now, I want setup network and internet on it, but I dont know how. I now that is better to go on the internet through linux, because there is not too much malicious software for it. Could you tell me how I can do that, because I heard that its not easy to configure. |

Regarding configuring network, first log in as root and start yast. After that, follow the next procedure: go to system administration, then integrate hardware into system, then configure networking device. At the following prompt you will see 2 network devices: eth0 and eth1. Be sure which one is for LAN and which one is for cable modem. Procedure is same for both cards:
Go to system administration, then network configuration, and then network base configuration. Select the line that has eth0, press f6 and enter your IP address and netmask (if eth0 is network card for LAN). After that, select eth1 and choose to receive parameters from DHCP. That will give you all needed parameters from your ISP.
