I got a Dell PC last month. They also installed me an ADSL connection. A friend installed me software for movie downloading. Everything worked great until yesterday. Now, whenever I connect to Internet I can access ISP, but not Internet. A friend told me that I might have a Trojan Horse downloader virus. Will setting up port ranges help me?

From your story, I am definitely certain that you have some sort of virus on your computer. It may be a virus from category of Downloader or Trojan Horse. Those types of viruses are designed to aloud access to hard disk content on your computer to his owners. Setting up port ranges in firewall will not probably help. I think that you have some Torrent software for movie downloading and that is the common problem for all users of Torrents. The cure for that problem is combination of AVG and Seagate firewall. You should also check with your ISP doesn't they have some server problems. If nothing else helps Windows reinstallation will.
