I am told that Hamachi is the software of choice for me to use when creating a virtual LAN over the internet for games and/or file sharing. I downloaded it and installed it, but I can't get it to work. It keeps telling me "cannot establish network" or some such. I made sure the IP of the machine I'm trying to add is correct. What am I doing wrong?

Just to get this off the table: You DID install Hamachi on the client computer (other than the one acting like a server), didn't you? Sorry if this is too obvious, but form what you've written it sounds sort of like you're trying to add a client to the network working from the server, which is not how it's done.
