| I'll be setting up a wireless LAN at home soon, and I have literally zero experience at doing this. I'm pretty confident that I can handle the basics by just going by the books, but what I'm not sure about is the default security solutions they provide. In my (non-network-related) experience, it was usually best to look elsewhere for security measures. Is that the case here? What would you guys recommend as a reliable wireless security solution? Thanks, |

Well first of all, I wouldn't rush into paranoia headlong like that. It's quite possible (I'd even dare say probable) that your ISP is actually providing you with perfectly viable security. You're not saying what it is, and I won't bother guessing, but I'd try it first before looking elsewhere.
Other than that, see here for some decent starter-level advice: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/guidance/cryptographyetc/peap_0.mspx
