What are the safety issues with using a periodical payment system over the web? I've found some sites that ask for my credit card info now, and promise to deduct the cost of services automatically later on. So far every one of my internet purchases was a one-time thing, so I'm not sure if my credit card info will be safe here. Anyone with more experience care to share the wisdom? Thanks in advance.

You didn't say which sites we're talking about, but the way you describe it I'm not sure, it sounds kind of iffy. Personally, I wouldn't go for it unless they allow for third-party payment options. If they do, just choose one (Like PayPal for instance), you should be safe enough with them.
