Samsung CD-R CD Burning Problem?

Hi there. I have a problem with Samsung CD-R CD burning. Every CD I try to burn is corrupted or unreadable after burning. I have tried various CD brands (Verbatim, Memorex, Princo even some no name stuff) but always with the same result unreadable CD or message that CD can not be burned. I have, also, tried two burning programs ( Nero and Alcohol 120) and Windows XP integrated burning solution. Result is, you can guess, unchanged. Is my Samsung CD-r broken or there is some hope for fixing this problem?

Yes, it might be broken. But before you dump it we can not dismiss some other possibility. That possibility is IDE drivers. If you have motherboard with NVIDIA chipset and installed drivers supplied by NVIDIA then this problem is reported to occur. Uninstall this drivers (from device manager or Add/Remove programs) an allow Windows XP to install its default drivers. This will probably resolve issue with burning CDs.
