When I power up computer, on first BIOS screen when checking hard drives I see message saying that hard drive is S.M.A.R.T. capable but it is disabled. Is it some kind of hardware malfunction or something else. Will that affect computer performance? Thank you in advance.

S.M.A.R.T. is diagnostic software inside hard drive which can predict around 70 of all hard drive problems. This message means that this software is not enabled in motherboard BIOS. If you enter BIOS you will find option for enabling this hard drive feature and you should enable it. It will not affect performance in any way and, for sure, it is not any kind of malfunction.
