Hello. I have installed SATA hard drive and I am a little bit confused. I am unable to find any information about DMA mode my hard drive is using. I was able to see this information for my old IDE hard drive in device manager, but for new SATA hard drive there is no such information. Can you give me some hints about this issue?

Hello. SATA hard drives do not have DMA (or UDMA) mode. SATA drives are using completely different protocol then PATA (IDE) drives so there is nothing to check or set regarding DMA mode. To be more precise, DMA protocols are present in SATA standard but they are implemented differently. I hope this helped you to solve dilemma.
