I somehow got my computer infected a few weeks ago and I really went trough hell to get rid of that virus. Now my PC works ok apart from one thing – whenever I want to shut it down I get the message about rundll32.exe not responding and so I have to turn it off using the button. Then of course, my next boot starts with a scandisk and it really annoys me. How do you think I should avoid that? I’m using WinXP. By the way, do you think that smiley central might have infected my PC? Thanks!

First of all, I don’t think that smiley central gave you that virus. Smiley central just installs a lot of spyware on your system – have you removed it? If you haven’t, do it soon since it can cause a lot of damage to your system. As for your rundll32.exe problem, I think that it should be fixed by a simple system restore. The only thing you need is your XP disc. I think that perhaps your rundll32.exe has been deleted by the virus you had and the system restore application will bring it back. I hope this helps.
