| We have a network with few computers at our workplace. At last few months, I had the filling that our network works rapidly slower then earlier. At first, I thought that I am just imaging it. However, yesterday I installed Network monitoring tool and it reports that our 100Mbps switch works at 10Mbps. Is my Network monitoring tool giving a false data, or maybe I have some security attacks? Should I maybe replace my switch with router? |

| I do not think that your Network monitoring tool is wrong. In addition, I do not think that you are a target to some security attacks. You will not change anything with replacing switch with router. I understand that you have 10/100Mbps network cards in all computers in the network. If you are not certain then be sure to check that immediately before anything else. Also, check that maybe somebody did not reduce the speed of its 10/100Mbps network adapter to work at lower rate. You have a switch as you say, and most switches nowadays have auto sense option. That means that if only one computer in the network has lower connection speed, switch automatically reduce the speed of all the others in the network to that speed. Otherwise, you will all have to set your card to 10Mbps if you want that your network work correctly. |
