Removing laptop bios password

Hello. I have to remove password from old Sony laptop. I have not been using it for years and I forgot password I once set. I know that on desktop computers you can remove BIOS password by clearing CMOS either by jumper on motherboard or by removing battery for several minutes. I hope that it is similar with laptops. Hello. Removing laptop BIOS password is not easy as removing password for desktop computer. BIOS passwords on laptop computers are one of the things that are trying to prevent laptop theft. You can try by removing battery but you will have to keep it that way a lot longer then with desktop computer. Also, many manufacturers have backdoor password for their BIOS. You can try your luck on internet and find password for your BIOS.
