I have a question. As you know, installing free versions of certain programs require installation of promotional software and adware. That’s how I agreed to install AOL icon in my IE bar. I can’t remember which program required that, but I think that I’ve uninstalled and this AOL remained on my IE bar. How to remove it? I couldn’t make it. I hope that I haven’t ruined something.

As far as I know those programs are designed so that you can uninstall them only if you agree to uninstall the program they accompany. So, if you want to remove it, you must check whether you have really uninstalled the main program. If you haven’t, do it and then this will be removed. I don’t think it’s fair that we’re forced to install software we don’t need only to be able to use the one we want. I know that it’s the case only for the free versions, but still. I’d rather they disabled certain features the full version has instead of having to fill my PC with unnecessary programs. If you can’t remember with which program this AOL came, type it in the search bar and search your PC. Find in which folder it’s installed and uninstall the whole application.
