Hello there. I have Sony Vaio notebook at my home, and the operating system somehow got corrupted in the meantime. Anyway, I have some recovery disks that came together with the laptop, and I think it is time to use them. But how? How does that works? I think that I can blew something up very easily without any help. So if somebody is willing to provide any help, thanks in advance for that.

First of all, before you begin, back-up your files to some other place, other partition or DVD, whatever. Then just put those disks one by one as it will be prompted from you. But, keep in mind that there are some big chances to fail with everything, not by your fault, but because of Microsoft politics. Windows repair or automatic recovery is not standing for stable solution at all. Clean install, with option to completely format the C: partition is the wisest choice. It always was.
