Is there anyone with experience with reg fixes for wmf exploit? How efficient it is? I’ve heard some oposite opinions about it and don’t even know wher to get it. Which is the best? How big this problem is? I’d appriciate advice on this subject.

Hi. This seems to be a serious. It is a vulnerability in Graphics Rendering Engine and can be used for a bunch of nasty things. Enables remote code execution under bad web site or mail attachment. As I see there is nothing that code can’t do if you’re loged as administrative user.
Now, I don,t know why trying with anything different than Microsoft’s fixes. You can find everything at TechNet, it’s set as Microsoft Security Bulletin MS06-001 and you have patches for all the operating systems and everything explained. The date published is January 5, 2006 so I guess there might have been third-party solutions before that, but personaly I wouldn’t take that risk. I don’t know how good Microsoft’s fix is, but am liable to beleve it more than anything esle, after all it is thair job.
