Huh, major problem. I have no idea how this happened but my HDD got pretty damaged two days ago, and all I was doing is looking at it horribly confused and lost most of the time. Some of the files I managed to save in previous backup but some of them seems to be lost, well at least I think they are. So I am now wondering is there any way to recover data from my damaged HDD?

Hi! Well I actually don’t know what kind of HDD damage are you dealing with? Some damages could be fixed with appropriate software ( getdataback, Active@UNDELETE, etc) and some of them ask for some physical data recovery solution, it is always better to put your computer in hands of some professional, then maybe cause even a bigger mess trying to fix things on your own. But then maybe you could provide us with more details.
