Hello. I am about to buy a new DVD writer. Some people say that Pioneer is the leader, other people say dont take it into a consideration, take Plextor, while other speak very best of Sony, etc. I mean, how to not get confused? I dont know who is experienced and who is not, and I dont want a crap inside my case. Thanks on any suggestion.

Hi. I am the one that claims that the LG is the most best choice among all other DVD burning devices. Also I will recommend Plextor as Lite-On as well. I think that you dont have to choose anything else, but only between these three manufacturers. Plextor is the old King. Now, it is just good. But, isnt that enough? And the most expensive by the way. Lite-On does its job very nice, there arent as many complains as with Pioneer products. Pioneer is great brand but, there is very much difference between car and computer devices. While LG is attending to win the and to rule the market, with everything they produce. And I can only say, they are very great at what they do. Get an LG DVD burner. My advice. Low cost (standard) and great technology and mechanism. You wont need any firmware updates like with older Pioneer models.
