|
|
| And now it is stuck. I am unable to uninstall the drivers from device manager it says it may be required for boot. Unable to locate any sound setting in BIOS and I am unable to reinstall the driver over top of the incorrectly installed version. It fails every time. If i use the included software sound comes from my speakers, but when I use nero or windows media it says no sound device installed. I checked in the control panel and it is not recognized. I am using Win XP home SP2 all critical updates are current. any help would be appreciated. |

| I'm having the same problem. I have a Foxconn 45CM-S with Realtek/Azalia HD audio and none of the supplied drivers work. I'm in my second attempt to install XP to see if there's anything I can do BEFORE installing the "wrong" drivers |

Okay with my Foxconn 45CM-S with Realtek® ALC883 chipset, I was able to get it working. Here is what did it for me:
Fresh install of XP
SP2 update
Download the latest chipset for your motherboard (mine was 945G chipset)
Throughout this whole time NEVER install drivers for your audio. Cancel out of any attempts by XP until after these steps:
1. Obtain KB888111.exe, the Microsoft UAA High
Definition Audio Package version 1.0a.
2. Run KB888111.exe and follow the installation
wizard. This will install the Microsoft UAA Bus
Driver for High Definition Audio under System
Devices in the Device Manager.
Now it should be able to locate the correct drivers. Hope this helps. |
