I've got an Actiontec Qwest modem/router/whatever thingy, and I'm unable to set an access password. The connection works fine, but it looks like everyone in the area is theoretically able to hook up to it. I know it must be possible to set somewhere, but I don't know how to get to it. Also, I'd like to change the name of the network, but have the same problem. Any help from more experienced users? TIA.

This may depend on the firmware version you have installed, but try it this way. Go to the following IP: 192.168.0.1. Enter "admin" at the login prompt. You should now see the web interface options that allow you to mess around with all sorts of settings. Just remember that if you screw something up, you should be able to reset the Qwest to the factory settings…
