Hello! Every time during boot up I am noticing this message: “S.M.A.R.T. disabled”. I checked with my friends, they get the same message, too. But no one knows what that really means. I found the setting in bios “Harddisk SMART” that can be enabled. Is it good to enable this feature? What is it for?

The SMART system is some kind of security system that measures different values, like hdd temperature, cylinder rpm and so on… I think that it is disabled by default because not all the hdds (especially not the older ones) support this feature. However, if your hard drive is of newer generation (at least 10-15Gb) it should support this feature, so you can freely enable it in the bios.
