Hello. I have quite old Gigabyte motherboard and I think that the time has come to upgrade BIOS. I am trying to keep all my drivers up to date but I have never done this for BIOS. It is now several years old and I really should upgrade it. Therefore, I have a question regarding this – is it a safe thing to do?

Hello. Answer on your question is very simple. No, it is not safe thing to do. If you make a mistake during BIOS upgrade you are risking to make your motherboard unusable. Besides, you should make BIOS upgrade only if something connected with BIOS is not working and not because BIOS is old. If everything works well then you should not mess with BIOS.
