I’m a beginner with Unix system and I’m wondering how mail filtering in this system works. I have been having a lot of troubles with spam and malicious spyware while I was using Windows based mail clients. Is there a safe and certain way to avoid these problems in Unix? What are your experiences with this system and the mail software for it?

Anyway there is a way for configuring Pine or any other mail software. There is a possibility to filter all the mail. I know that there is a way to filter spam messages- It is used by means of Sieve or procmail. These programs create special folders where mails that have very high chances of being spam are put.
