I’m a beginner with Unix system and I’m wondering how mail filtering in this system works. I have been having a lot of troubles with spam and malicious spyware while I was using Windows based mail clients. Is there a safe and certain way to avoid these problems in Unix? What are your experiences with this system and the mail software for it?

I guess that the best way to sort out all your dilemmas concerning Unix operative system and the related software is by visiting the official site for this operative system. Anyway there is a way for configuring Pine or any other mail software. There is a possibility to filter all the mail. I know that there is a way to filter spam messages- It is used by means of Sieve or procmail. These programs create special folders where mails that have very high chances of being spam are put. There are instructions how to configure those programs and make them efficient. Anyway, good luck with your endeavors to learn how to use this operative system properly.
