When I try to play movie with BS player I get the message saying videodata FOURCC code WMV3. Also all other players are giving me some different messages but there is always WMV3 mentioned. I am guessing that this is some codec I do not have installed but I do not know what codec it is and where to download it. I have used Google but I have not understood any of information they give me. I am not a technical guy.

WMV3 is Windows Media codec. You can download it from Microsoft web site bundled with Windows Media Player. They are also some other possibilities like Nimo codec pack or K-lite standard pack. With these codec packs you will get almost all codecs you will ever need. And just one more hint. Next time you get similar problem try to use program called Gspot. It will give you information about necessary codecs for playing desired movie.
