| I am having difficulties with installing the network card on my old computer which is running on Windows 98. In fact, I think that the problem is my knowledge, and not the card after all. What should I do when the computer finds the new hardware? On the XP I used to click next for several times and everything is completed, I do the same thing here and nothing happens. Win 98 just installs something and after that the thing is the same, I have no new hardware or new icon where I can continue with the setup. I have one floppy disk that came with the card, forgot to mention. Thanks in advance. |

| Well, Windows 98 is a little bit out of date for some various hardware devices, comparing to XP which has most of the drivers built-in already. Put that floppy on the drive or copy the contents to some particular folder. Go to the device manager and start installation again. When prompted for the source files, guide your PC to the location where you have copied the files or point it directly to the Drive A:\. Windows should find the match, and after it does that, it will prompt you to copy the necessary files from windows 98 setup disk(installation cd), so if you don’t have the one, better don’t start installation at all. After the task with Win 98 CD, the installation is done. |
