Unfortunately, I am still using a dial-up connection. My IP seems to be the problem, because my surfing speed is very low. When I go to connection properties I dont see my IP address anywhere. Security window is unavailable, although I can see its settings. I cannot even set up my address automatically. Where to find this Obtain my IP address automatically option? Are there any dial-up users here?

| You are not the only one. I am still using a dial-up connection from time to time, because my ADSL provider doesnt allow me to access Yahoo. Go to connection properties, and select network settings window. Then go to the advanced card and select settings option. There you should see obtain my IP address automatically. If its unavailable, check the local area connection. Is everything fine there? What about your connection status in the right corner? Two computers you are seeing there should be blue, because that means they are connected. Your provider should provide you with all set up values, so read carefully your manual and see if there is a IP connection window. And about speedWell, there is no help here, dial-up is still dial-up so dont except anything special from your internet speed. There is a trick with internet explorer, where you can turn off all the unnecessary stuff, like pictures, animations, and flash object. Although, they are necessary sometimes like when you need to register somewhere |
