Hi. I have a problem with AC97 integrated sound card on motherboard based on Intel 845G chipset. I can not get sound from it after installing Windows XP Professional. Windows correctly recognized all other devices and installed proper drivers except for this sound card. I have tried installing manually drivers from Windows setup disc but I had no luck. Can you tell me what to do, please?

You will need to download and install drivers for your motherboard (if you do not have driver disc for it which had to come with motherboard). Go to manufacturers web site and find drivers for your motherboard model. It will probably be bundle with all drivers for motherboard including sound card drivers. After downloading install it but do not install everything because chipset drivers and other stuff could be older then current drivers installed with XP so install only sound card drivers. Just to be sure before installing set a System restore point in the case something goes wrong.
