| My friend got IBM 300PL and gave it to me to install him an operating system. I have placed installation CD in CD ROM drive but I am not able to start installation process because IBM 300PL does not want to boot from CD ROM. I looked in BIOS but only two options are hard drive and floppy drive. Of course, none of these options work for me. Can you help me with this problem? |

| Hello. You can boot system from floppy disc, if you make a bootable floppy. When you boot system like this then you will be able to start installation process from CD. Considering lack of option in BIOS to boot from CD you should consult service manual. Also, you can try to update BIOS. Sometimes that can help to make IBM 300PL to boot from cd-rom. |
