| My printer is HP PhotoSmart P1000 and its connected on my PC (Windows XP). Other computer which I have is mac 10.3.x. These two computers are in home network. Everything is ok, except the fact that I can print from XP, but not from mac. If they are in network, then printing should work properly, but my friend told me that I should make shareing. He is not right, right?. Help me! |

Printing should work properly only if you have shared printer, and you didnt. And you are not right, but your friend is. You have to share printer on XP first. Do follovig:
Go to start, then control panel, then printer and faxes. Right click on your printer and choose sharing, then check share this printer, enter printer name, click ok. Your printer icon will has a hand underneath (means that your printer is shared). To do this on mack, click printer setup utility, then add button, then in the dropdown box change from rendezvous to windows printing; then go to printer list and choose your workgroup, then select your shared printer and click add,. Try to print test page. If you can, then you shared it.
