Hey there! I’m new to networks and since I have a lot of problems with setting the first one in my home I’m starting to think it’s just too complicated for me. I just wanted to connect my wife’s laptop to my PC so that we could share my printer. I’m using Linksys router to set this network up. At first, the print sharing was OK but when I tried setting up dial-up to work from my wife’s laptop, print sharing broke down. And I cannot fix it! Could anyone offer me some advice on this please? Thanks!

First of all, you didn’t give us any info on firewall/antivirus programs you’re using and they can usually be the cause for various network problems. Particularly if you’re using some of the Symantec programs. As for setting up dial-up from your wife’s computer, it can only be done with a direct phone line. And just one more thing, I think there’s a lot of good places on the net where you can read a step-by-step guides on making a network so don’t just give up but do a little search and a little more reading and you’ll see it’s not that big a deal.
