| I need your help, because I have primary HDD 0 failure! I have a 40GB Maxtor HDD, with three partitions on it. Several moths ago I got broadband connection to the internet. Because of this, my computer is running almost non-stop. The PC is about 6 or 7 years old. And without any warning, the XP froze, and I couldnt do anything, except to restart the machine. But, I get the HDD 0 failure message. It seems that the HDD is dead. What can I do? |

| If your PC is that old, the components are near the life time. But the main problem with you is that you are not letting the PC to take a rest. You are pushing it to the limit. If your HDD has a failure, it is certainly dead. It must have overheated and just gave up. Check if you can see any outside damage. The obvious thing is that two sides have separated, so the vacuum was lost. But you dont need to be bothered. Just buy new HDD, place a HDD cooling fan on it, and from time to time, shutdown the machine. |
