Hello, I'm looking for some hardware advice here. Recently my PowerBook G4 has stopped reading data DVDs. It still recognizes CDs, and most movie DVDs, but when I put in a data DVD, it just spins it and spins it until it ejects them, no error message or anything like that. Occasionally it looks like it managed to read them, but it shows just an empty disc. I have no idea what could've caused this, since no physical trauma has been done to the 'Book and it used to recognize all DVDs perfectly until about a month ago. Any ideas?

Sounds like your standard "just because" hardware malfunction, no rhyme or reason to it. I assume you're still under Apple Care, or whatever you guys call that? If you are, you should just take it into a local store and have it replaced – I doubt they'd bother with diagnostics and repairs at all. Good luck.
