I have a small network at work, and it seems to me it is very vulnerable to hackers’ attacks. Since there is no one else to check the network and keep it safe, I thought about doing some things on my own. So, how can I scan ports? And how do you know which ports shouldn’t be open? Many thanks in advance

There are many online tests you can run to see which holes are open for hackers attacks. But, this all seems to me as a game – let’s play some computer administration  this is not at all recommendable, and especially not when you have business involved. So, do yourself a favor and talk to the owner of the company. If you have any doubts that the system is not safe recommend him to hire an IT specialist as soon as possible. I hope you and the person mentioned, are both aware what kind of damage can a hackers attack do to your system? It can be devastating. So, do consult a specialist.
