Hello to everyone. I have several documents created in Word and Excel. I need to distribute these documents to other people but I would like to prevent them from changing anything. I was thinking about setting a password on this documents so only those users that have password can make changes to these documents. However, I am not sure if this password protection is safe enough. What is your opinion?

Hello. I have to disappoint you and tell you that there is no such thing as unbreakable password or absolutely safe protection. However, password protection on Word and Excel documents is more then enough if you are dealing with common computer users. If people you are distributing document to are programmers or some other computer experts then you are out of luck. They will find a way to bypass password if that interests them enough.
