I want to put the ‘x of y’ kind of page numbering in the footer of a document I’m making. The problem I am facing now is that, since the title page and table of contents do not have page numbers, last page displays 36 of 38. How can I make Word stop counting the first two pages (title and toc)? Thanks in advance!

I have a kind of solution that is trivial but I think it will help you if the printed version is your main concern. You could simply make a separate document that just contains the title and table of contents. The numbers on the rest of the document should be ok. Did this help you?
