| Hi people. I just dont know when I am going to stop loosing my nerves with my PC. Yesterday, I have solved the virus problem. Now, I just cant log in to windows. Like there is no hard drive. The computer is asking for Floppy drive to insert and to press any key to continue. Where is the solution? Here I am writing from the Internet club, so please help, anyone. Thanks. |

| You said that the virus was a problem yesterday? And that its gone. You computer is clean right now, is it? Which anti virus you were using? ... Maybe there is still some trace of it somewhere, right? But this smells to me like someone who doesnt knows what to do, had to go into the BIOS and mess up with sensitive stuff there. Your computer needs to know, from where to start. You can pick that by your self (practically, you must, BIOS is not auto-selective, like shuffle in winamp). If you are installing a fresh copy of Windows, than you usually boot from CD. If you are using already installed windows, than you boot from hard drive. But if you still hold boot from CD option, and disable all other devices to boot except your removable media drive, than you get what you saw. Also, check the main option menu for device rules. Is your hard drive set to AUTO or NONE. I think it is not a virus. I think that problem lies in wrong BIOS configuration. Pick up the set BIOS defaults option, save it, and see what happens on next try. |
