| I have this Dell configuration with integrated sound and video cards. Motherboard is p5gdc and it has 4 slots for IDE devices. However, I am using only two and cant get the job done. Why is the system so slow? Both of my devices are IDE, hard drive and the burner. So, is there a way to tweak my motherboard? Maybe you know some software which can enable users to use extended capabilities. I tried to overclock it, but I cannot get an access. |

| Your p5gdc is probably locked. To unlock it go to BIOS and select hardware options tab. Maybe it is called exactly like that, but its something like that. Then, find the pool verification tab, and check the values. What does it say, can you see the overload sign? If not, your motherboard is doing well. Basically, your system is slow because motherboard is using some old protocol for file transfer. It isnt some 10 years old protocol. What I wanted to say is your p5gdc is capable to use 677 Mhz speed. And that far better then some 333 Mhz junk. Avoid overclocking because it isnt build for that. If you want to play with your system, fine. Buy a Hurricane 2.0, and overclock it as much as you want. Another important thing is DDR2 usage. If you are still a DDR user, dont expect anything spectacular. |
