A quick question: Who should I trust more regarding system temperature, the BIOS temp sensors, or temp monitoring programs used form within Win XP? The thing is, they report vastly different CPU temperatures 40 or so compared to almost 90. I've tried various applications, and they all show much higher temperatures than BIOS (though not always the same). Thanks,

Had the same thing happen to me some time ago. The answer was those programs were somehow conflicting, wanting access to the same resources or something. That's why they were showing the wrong temperature. Don't remember which they were exactly, but one must've been Asus Probe. Just uninstall all except one of them (preferably reinstall that one too), and the one you leave should show you the right temperature. Now, if that stays much different form BIOS temp, it may be something else
