Outlook 2003 contact by category not working

My Outlook 2003 runs on an xp machine. Contact View by category used to work fine, until a couple months ago.

The symptom is: when I click on "By Category" under Current View now, the Contacts will be sorted by HomePhone, instead of Category.

I couldn't figure out what went wrong. Any help will be appreciated.
